Full portrait session: takes about an hour and a half, usually at the studio, normally black and white (colour by arrangement), plus processing time. $250 includes the cost of the shoot and proofs of the shots I consider successful. Deliverables: a minimum of ten images from the shoot, provided as a gallery of digital images, to be downloaded by the client, image size up to 800 pixels in either direction. Prints of any of these are available to the subject for cost plus 15%.
Headshots for performers: takes about an hour, usually at the studio. $150 includes formatting of image with name or borders as you specify. Deliverables: a minimum of five photos to choose from, client to choose one or two to be formatted according to their specifications. Prints provided at cost plus 15%.
Online profile mini-session: a half hour, $50 shoot meant to produce a small number of images suitable for use online in personal profiles. You are responsible for telling me the requirements of the site that will use the photos (usually that means there is a maximum size in pixels, and a maximum file size). Deliverables: minimum of five digital images in a format specified by the client, up to 600 pixel maximum dimensions; these images may be used and digitally reproduced freely for online communication.
Fine art prints: my fine art prints are printed on a fibre-based paper (usually an Arches paper) and archivally mounted. Printing process can include Chromogenic Prints (C-Prints), giclée process, or piezographic printing. If you wish to print any shots from your shoot using these fine art techniques I will be happy to discuss the possibilities with you.
Licencing and permissions: if you want to use an image for any commerical purpose contact me to get permission. If the application is not commercial I will most likely let you use it free of charge, but please contact me before using it. If you wish to use an image commercially please let me know how and where you'd like to use it. Crediting the photo to me may be a condition of its use.
On-location shoots: are charged at a rate of $50 an hour, including travel and processing time. Transport costs, equipment rental, and assistant's wages, if any, are the responsibility of the client.
Please note that in all cases I only provide the photos I consider successful. You do not get every image shot during the session. I do not give out print-sized digital files unless rights are purchased, which is a separate charge from the shoot fees and printing fees.
My studio days are Tuesdays and Saturdays, during daylight hours which of course vary with the seasons. I can do on-site work on other days, by arrangement. I work with natural light (that means no flashes and artificial light), so I'm not so good with weddings unless you're getting married in a field. All work is shot digitally.
